LIFE:

 "I think it' s important that we all make ourselves as accessible as possible. I try and be co-operative because I think the time when people start being uncoperative it the time when people get bigheaded."
 "I don' t want to give the impression I' m arrogant. That really scares me."

Facts about Ronan:


- He was thrown out of the school choir because the master said he couldn' t sing!
- As a teenager he was a champion sprinter, winning several school races.
- He always wears a plaster on his right index finger for luck. (Superstition??)
- 'Father & Son' was the song he sang for the Boyzone audition
- One of Boyzone' s earlier ways to amuse themselves was to have belching contests and Ronan always won.
- Has got six scars in his head from a rock falling on him, one on his left arm from a burn, one on his right arm from a knife and two on his forehead
- Had his motorcycle license on March 28th, 2001

Besides being a sucessful solo singer, Ronan was also the front man of pop band Boyzone and the manager together with his own manager Louis Walsh of the new pop act "Westlife". But if you think that' s all you're wrong, Ronan' s also pretty good at being a TV presenter. To date he has already presented "The Eurovision Song Contest" in May 1997, ""The MTV Awards" in November 1997 & November 1999, "Miss World"" in November 1998 and the TV UK series of "Get your act together" in early 1999. All this in between his hectic shedule of being in Boyzone.

Ronan says: " I don't want to be seen as a presenter - it's just a bonus. I'm a singer/songwriter and I find being a pop star a lot more fulfilling because I love me music. I find presenting easy to do though, so it's good that I can get away with that too.
Plenty of things have gone wrong when I've presented shows - I've forgotten my lines, where I'm supposed to be, all sorts of things.....
When I did Miss World, I forgot the last line and said "And here's the next eleven girls," and it went to an ad break. I went, (shouts) "Oh my God, what do I do?!" Things go haywire every time - it never runs as smoothly as it looks on TV. "

"I moved into management because I like to see the other side of the coin. It helps me as an artist, it makes my job easier and it teaches me a lot. Being in management keeps my feet on the ground, because as much moaning as the pop star does, the manager works as hard and I think it's very interesting to see that.

"I try to be there for the Westlife lads more than just giving them advice. They know they can always knock on my door or pick up the phone and ask, "What should we do?" I don't want to talk down to them, I want to help them. I was there in the studio when they were recording their vocals, though - I think that's important. Which of them is my favourite? I don't have one! I'm not allowed to have a favourite. A lot of people say that Nicky looks like me and can sing like me too. He can put on the voice, so I'm a bit worried, hahaha!
" It doesn't really worry me that Westlife might end up being bigger than Boyzone - if that happens, so be it. I want the boys to be the biggest group they can be. At the same time I don't want them to change as people, and I think it's important for them to keep their feet on the ground. If pop stars lose their heads with success, it can go all pear-shaped. Westlife are a good bunch of lads . They're hardworking, they're very talented and I like them a lot. I think they can go all the way."

And if this ain' t enough, Ronan has also found time to get married on April 30th -1998 to Yvonne Connely. They have a son called Jack Ronan Keating born on March 15th 1999 (Christened on July 11th, 1999) and a baby daughter called Marie born on February 18th, 2001 at 2.30 am at Mount Carmel Hospital in Dublin.
Ronan's besides persuing his solo career has also signed up with William Morris Film Agency in Los Angeles. Who knows if Ro will be the next Brad Pitt...
